COLOR MENTOR

My goal and intention of this drawing is to mimic the cheese slices of Wayne Thiebaud's drawling as possible as I can. Firstly, I drew the mentor of the slices and than drew the background color. Secondly, i put other colors to mix them up and show the value. Finally, i  use white to make all stuff more natural. I am surprised about the oil pastel. I cannot imagine that I can use oil pastel to draw the oil painting. My drawling is about value and color mixing. I think the most difficult challenge for me is to mix the color up. I mix them carefully and evenly, then I overcame this. When I was drawing, I was thinking about how the deep and light color goes. this is kind of shift to artistic thinking. My drawling really works at using color to show the value. The way I mix color up can bring to my next drawing. Carol really helps me to do with mentor. I will do more slices in the drawling if i will do over. The best thing of my drawing is the way that color show value.

Explain for Leftover

I got the leftover from the Thanksgiving meal and the meal in the Chinese restaurant. I got a fantastic Thanksgiving meal in my friends house. And on the black Friday, my friend and I went to the mall and eat some Chinese food. Finally, I took the picture of those leftover.

My goal and intention is to mimic my photo and draw it vividly, especially to compare the dark and light parts.  Firstly I put the charcoal on the paper as the background and then divide my original photo into many small box by using marker. And then i cut the paper into a proper size. Finally, i draw each little part by observing the photo and erase the light part. The thing that surprise me the most is that the contrast of light and dark.  Its looks like real one. This drawling is about the contrast of light and dark and the gradual change on the shadow's edge.  The most challenge for me is to draw is the shadow of leaves of trees. i draw the contour firstly and then erase the light part. Finally, i make the shadow of leaves darker and made the gradual change on the edge.  My drawing really works on the contrast of shadowing in the photo. I think the way I make the strong comparison of shadows in the drawling can be brought into my next drawling. The teacher  really helps me in some details. I learned that how to make strong comparison of dark and light. and I learned that how to do the gradual change on edge from Ivy.  I would make the contrast much stronger. The best thing of my drawing is the light and shadows.

Mackenzie's take out box

My goal is to create the various lights on the box and lead you into the picture. I want people can be led into the picture by the chopsticks. Firstly I put the charcoal on the paper as the background and then pose the chopsticks that let them be almost vertical to your viewpoints. Finally, drew the box and erase the light part. The thing that surprise me the most is that the light on the chopsticks was shown so vividly be me. Its looks like real one. This drawling is about the contest of light and dark and the gradual change between the light and dark. the most challenge for me is to draw the difference of shadows on the chopsticks. I observe the light in details, i changed at least 5 methods to show the slight difference. I start to observe it not only by using eyes and my imaginations as well. I think that this may be a way that artist thinks. My drawing really works on the difference of shadowing on the box, and the way that the light lead you in. I think the way I observe objects and the way i shift shadows can help me in the next project as well. The teacher  really helps me in some details. I learned that how to shift the shadows in slight details from him. I would add an extra chopsticks into the box  and draw a more diffcult one. The best thing of my drawing is the light and shadows.

TAKE OUT BOX

My goal for this drawing is to show the various light on the take out box by using charcoal. I want to draw the box from special view point and draw it vividly. Firstly I put the charcoal on the paper as the background and then drew the box and erase the light part. The shadow of the box really surprise me because it looks like a flower.  This drawing is about the shadow, and the most difficult challenge for me is to reflect the shadow vividly. I observe the light in details, even in every difference of shadows on the box. I start to observe it not only by using eyes and my imaginations as well. I think that this may be a way that artist thinks. My drawing really works on the difference of shadowing on the box, the light one and the dark one. I think the way I observe objects can help me in the next project as well. Ivy really helps me in some details. I learned that how to take care of my drawing from her. The shadow of A CUP

My goal for this drawing is to show the various shadow on the cup by using normal pencils. I want to show the shadows by making different levels. I put the cup under the light and then draw that. This drawing is about the shadow, and the most difficult challenge for me is to reflect the shadow vividly. I observe the light in details, even in every gap on the cup and the difference of shadows. I start to observe it not only by using eyes and my imaginations as well. I think that this may be a way that artist thinks. My drawing really works on the difference of shadowing, the light one and the dark one. I think the way I observe objects can help me in the next project as well. Ivy really helps me in some details. I learned that how to change levels of shadows from her. I would add a egg or something nearby the cup. The best thing of my drawing is the light and shadows.

Pumpkin

My goal for this drawing is to show the various light on the pumpkin by using charcoal. Firstly I put the charcoal on the paper as the background and then drew the pumpkin and erase the light part. This is my first time to use charcoal. I think it is a magical stuff. The appearance of charcoal on the paper really surprises me. This drawing is about the shadow, and the most difficult challenge for me is to reflect the shadow vividly. I observe the light in details, even in every gap on the Pumpkin and the difference of shadows. I start to observe it not only by using eyes and my imaginations as well. I think that this may be a way that artist thinks. My drawing really works on the difference of shadowing, the light one and the dark one. I think the way I observe objects can help me in the next project as well. Ivy really helps me in some details. I learned that how to take care of my drawing from her. Letter Drawing

Well, I want to show a deep meaning stuff in my artwork. That's why I choose the "Endless". When I first time saw it. This word attracts me. It let me feel that I am in the abyss of the universe, especially when I took the picture of it. My goal is to present the Endless for people. I want people can look through the letters and go deeper. May be can related to themselves when they are stuck in the troubles.  I made the letters first. and then I stick them on the paper and give a proper view of light. Then i drew them by observing the Letters. Finally I gave then the shadows. My painting is about the composition of each letter and it's shadows.  Composing the letters together is the most challengeable work for me. I felt so bad when I was doing that. The distance of each letter is too wide. and the Letters I MADE are really wired. I am really not good at it honestly.  Well, i just tried a lot of time to redid the letters. That really took me a lot of time.  I think my painting really works at the last S's shadowing. It is really light because it means that the Dark is going away and the Brightness is coming.  I think I will observe my painting more carefully nest time. This time, I didn't make some details really well. My best mentor is Ivy. I learnt that the shadowing need have levels then the value can be presented better. Carol did a really good job as well. I learnt that the composition is really important for work. she really did a good composition which is much butter than me. So next time, I will think more before I start to do the work. I will redid the composition and the letter which means i will do it from the beginning, because i really felt depressed about this work. I felt the best aspect of my work is its meaning for me. Endless means infinite and kind of lost in the abyss. I really love this feeling. So whenever I saw my painting, I would feel the feeling for the painting. 

WHAT IS FAMILY

 THE NATURE: the natural scenery is my family. The sky protects and gives me sun, moon and cloud. The ground provides me a place to live and stand.

MY NEIGHBORHOOD: Where i really live in China. This is really my home.

MY CLASSMATES: They are my classmates in my middle school. we are family.

MY FRIENDS HERE: They are my best friends in America. We help each others. Although we may not in the same class, but we help each other for living, act like a family.
